Crystal Cove - Lisa Kleypas Well pooh, this one just didn't do it for me. I wanted to like it, but something about it was out of sync the whole book.

Jason being soulless was enough for me, adding the witches bane in the mix was too much. Then all of the morphing of spells... eh, I stopped caring because it became too wishy-washy.

I liked Sam's (Rainshadow Road) nerdiness way more than Jason who just came off as a d-bag. Whereas, Sam was energetic and fun like a puppy and Jason was resigned, grumpy and a little too zen. It didn't make me want to like him or understand why Justine would either.
