Deadlocked is like a lazy walk through an interesting garden in which the Venus Fly Trap tries to eat you at the end. I wondered about the meandering pace of the book and then I realized it was because Sookie was not the main target as she has been in all the other books. Her viewpoint is more of an observer to the changes happening around her and we see her frustration of having no ability to impact any of the issues befalling her friends and family. I'm kinda glad she got to take a breather from being the center calamity. Oh and by the way... and I'm totally on team Sam.
